It is not unusual nowadays, given the popularity of coffee with people of all ages and status, that households have Coffee Makers. In fact, with only the exception of instant coffee, most coffees are made through coffee markets. With the abundance of its use, and sometimes “abuse”, it wouldn’t be surprising that one of these days, your coffee makers suddenly breaks down on you. But, before you fret and panic, here are some of the more common problems and occurrences with coffee makers that you need to know well. • The most common problems with coffee makers are their power cord, or switch. Sometimes, the power cord or the on/off switch may go bad, and in cases such as stated above, it would be best to have a pro to replace them. Replacing it yourself may even worsen the damage. In worst cases, the power cord or on/off switch may be broken beyond repair, and thus, you will need to buy a new coffee maker. • Most coffee makers have these one-way valves, and most of the time, it can get clogged. Just like your drain, this is nothing major, since the only thing that clogs it is, well, coffee. The debris can be easily removed with a toothpick. • Also, be wary of the tubes, especially with the aluminum ones. Most tubes can easily get clogged with calcium. This is nothing major though, and you can easily remedy this by running vinegar through the coffee maker once, and then running it twice with water to flush the vinegar out of the coffee maker. • Lastly, the two worst damages that could happen to your coffee marker, in which breaks them beyond repair, is the failure of their heat-sensitive switches and the failure of the heating coil. In most cases, you’ll probably be told by a technician to buy a new coffee maker, since parts are as expensive as buying a new one. | ||||||||
